The FemtoJet express microinjector is the latest member of the Eppendorf Cell Technology family. It is used for the injection of liquids in the volume range from femtoliters to microliters. The external pressure supply guarantees the permanent availability of higher injection pressures. Programmable injection parameters ensure high reproducibility. The proven operating concept enables intuitive and time-saving handling.
The FemtoJet express was specially developed for requirements in the fields of developmental biology and "functional genomics“. Therefore, it is perfectly suited for microinjection into small organisms (e.g. fruit flies) or embryos in an early stage of development. The high injection pressures often required for these applications are provided reliably, even for longer series with very short intervals.
The injection parameters (injection pressure, injection time and compensation pressure) can be set easily and quickly with control buttons directly on the device. The integrated "Clean“ function enables quick rinsing of blocked capillaries. The main functions can also be operated with the supplied hand key or an optional foot key.
The FemtoJet express forms the perfect system with Eppendorf micromanipulators (e.g. electronic linkage to InjectMan NI 2), and it integrates just as easily with non-Eppendorf microinjection systems.

- Microinjection into small organisms or embryos at early development stages: e.g., Drosophila melanogaster, Xenopus laevis, Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans), zebrafish, medaka, etc.
- Pronuclear injections into mouse embryos
- Serial injection volumes from 100 pl up to 1 µl
