Eppendorf PCR clean
PCR clean
PCR clean consumables are meant to be used for PCR preparation or any reactions where DNase or RNase could interfere with the reaction or analysis.
PCR clean consumables are
They are
- DNase and RNase free, so that starting material or PCR product will not be affected by RNA or DNA degrading enzymes.

Which requirements does "PCR clean" fulfill?
The miniscule amounts of
genetic substance used for experiments must be protected
from the degrading enzymes (DNases and RNases), i.e. all
containers and tips must be free of these
impurities.
Consumables that come into contact with
PCR reaction lots must be free of PCR inhibitors
which would interfere with a detection reaction.
It must also be guaranteed that these plastic goods
are free of contaminating nucleic acids. This is
normally human DNA, which could infiltrate the plastic
goods during the production process (e.g. via skin
particles).
Absence of human DNA. Monitored
in a PCR test which can detect quantities smaller than a
single human cell (≤2 pg DNA).
Absence of DNase and RNase. Reaction buffers with one DNA and one RNA conductor are incubated at 37ºC in the consumables for several hours. The intactness of the nucleic acids shall then be tested via electrophoresis.
Absence of PCR inhibitor. The consumables are tested in a separate PCR experiment to
ascertain whether they are contaminated with substances
which may have an adverse effect on the amplification
procedure. |

Our production conditions - cleanliness guaranteed!
The underlying aim of "PCR clean" is to make sure
that contamination doesn't arise in the first place. For
this reason, all plastics which adhere to the "PCR
clean" standard are clean-room manufactured. Only
trained staff in special protective suits are allowed to
enter this manufacturing area, which is isolated from
all other areas. Furthermore, virtually all production
processes are fully automated.
Only those consumables that have passed all the
necessary tests shall be labeled "PCR clean", a
quality seal which assures customers of the suitability
of their Eppendorf consumables for direct use in
experiments and analysis without the need for further
treatment.
