Why should I pre-wet ViscoTip?
We recommend pre-wetting of ViscoTip to avoid air bubbles. Furthermore, the pipetting results will be more precise and accurate after pre-wetting.
How can ViscoTip aspirate creamy liquids (skin cream, curd)?
How can ViscoTip aspirate creamy liquids (skin cream, curd)?
Creamy liquids such as skin cream or curd flow very slowly and holes tend to form when a part of the liquid is removed. Therefore we recommend aspiration of creamy liquids in a circular movement to avoid air intake.
Furthermore, the liquid can be centrifuged prior to aspiration.

The adjustment of cone spacing of the electronic model is not motorized. What is the reason?
When working with plates and multi-channel pipettes it is a prerequisite to have a rotatable lower part. Fixed lower parts make the work inconvenient and non-ergomic. For this reason Eppendorf has invented a lower part combining the factors "rotating" with "adjustable cone spacing". The fact, that the lower part is not fixed means that the motor for the cone space adjustment cannot be integrated in the pipette's upper part. Having a rotating lower part requires a motor in the lower part. This extra weight would have made the pipette "foot-heavy" and becoming non-ergonomic. For this reason Eppendorf decided for a manual cone spacing.

The Move It lower parts show indications for plates. I have a plate which does not fit into these formats. Can I nevertheless use the Move It pipettes?
First, please check with the option table, if you have the suitable Move It pipette availabe. Maybe you simply need a different model for your applications.
In case you have an atypical vessel format you can of course also use Move It if not exceeding the distance range. Use a ruler to check which Move It model is suitable for your atypic vessel type. Within this range all distances can be set. Therefore please proceed as follows:
1) Attach tips
2) Set the two format limiters to maximum width range
3) Use the rotating knob to adjust the space between the tips until fitting to the atypic vessel
4) Set one of the format limiter to this position
5) Set the rotating knob to the second vessel type
6) Set the format limiter to this tip distance
You can now work between these set limits by simply using the rotating knob.

Could you please send me an overview over the chemical resistance of the Move It lower parts?
The Move It lower parts are exclusively made of the high-tech materials we have already build in the
Research plus and Xplorer pipettes. Thus the chemical resistance table for the Research plus applies also for both, the Xplorer Move It lower parts and the Research plus Move It lower parts (but not for the upper part of Xplorer due to the electronics). The list is available on the eppendorf website (Research plus / Operating Manual)

Why are there double labels on the folding boxes, as "PCR clean" + "Sterile" or "PCR clean"…
Why are there double labels on the folding boxes, as "PCR clean" + "Sterile" or "PCR clean" + "Protein-free"?
Due to the modularization of purity grades, some products are labeled with more than one purity grade symbol. For example, the epDualfilter T.I.P.S. has the double seal "PCR clean "+ "Sterile" and the UVette the double seal "PCR clean" + "Protein-free" on the packing. The certification remains unaffected by the modularization.
