How is the sample access controlled?

​Sample access is managed with the help of an electronic lock that works in combination with an active user managememt. The administrator is able set up users with different rights and levels. The user / some user groups have access to the samples and rights to acknowledge alarms and change settings.

What is the most cost-effective model of the F740 series?

The F740h shows the well-known LED Display and is insulated with PU Foam and Vacuum insulation panels. It has the same high quality as F740hi regarding construction of chamber and robustness of machine.

Which refrigerants are used in different models and which is the most environmental friendly ULT?

For F740h and F740hi we use the most environmental friendly hydrocarbon refrigerants (R290/R170) in a two stage cooling system with very low energy consumption data for the F740hi of 10.5 kWh/d at- 80C and 9.0 kWh/d at -70C.

Are the F740 devices noisy?

The CryoCube F740 has an improved sound level of 47.8 dB. The "i" versions provide you some silence level of down to 41.3 dB. These "i" versions are equipped with a sound-reduction-system. Based on a different air filter position at the front of the freezer, the air flow is now guided in a more silent way towards the ventilation system. At the backside of the freezer, a special compartment further reduces the sound level. Relax when working near a CryoCube F740i.

Which racking systems and accessories are available ?

Eppendorf offers a broad range of Stainless steel and Aluminium Racks for sample storage. In addition Eppendorf Storage Boxes of polypropylene are available in 2"", 2.5"", 3"",4"" and 5"" sizes for standard Cryovessels, SafeLock tubes, 5ml Eppendorf tubes, 15 and 50 ml conical tubes, PCR plates, Deepwell plates and MTPs.

Where can I find license information about software components of CryoCube F70hi?

The software included in the CryoCube F740hii contains copyrighted software that is licensed under the GPL. A copy of that license is included in the settings of the device under “About this CryoCube F740hi”. You may obtain the complete corresponding source code from us for a period of three years after our last shipment of this product. Please direct your request to eppendorf@eppendorf.com. Can the inner doors of CryoCube F740hi be removed?

Yes this is possible. The inner doors can easily be removed for access to compartments during defrosting and cleaning.

Is the Eppendorf CryoCube F740h connectable to VisioNize Lab Suite?

Yes, the CryoCube F740h (box enabled) can be connected to VisioNize Lab Suite via a Gateway box. It enables remote monitoring and status checks, alert notifications form anywhere.

What means "Pull down time"?

This is the time required for a unit to pull down from Room temperature to -80 °C. This usually takes between 3-4 hours for an Eppendorf freezer. The pull down data for Eppendorf freezers can be found in our familiy brochure "Pure. Ultracold".

How many boxes fit in an Eppendorf CryoCube F440n / F440h ?

​In one of the five compartments 4 racks will fit. The storage capacity is 20 racks per freezer, 16 boxes per rack and in total 320 x 2" boxes per freezer.

What is the design of the inner chamber of the CryoCube F440h and F440n ?

​The chamber of CryoCube F440h and F440n is composed of 5 compartments with 5 inner doors. It is made of stainless steel, which is easy to clean and disinfect.

What are the safety features of the CryoCube F440h/n ?

​The handle can be locked with an integrated lock and additional padlock. A lockable metal plate protects the main and battery switches from accidental disconnection. All settings (alarms, delays and setpoints) can be protected by an individual code.

What is the pull down time, i.e. the time it takes for the CryoCube F440h/n (230 V/115V) to cool down from ambient to -80°C ?

​The pull-down time for the CryoCube F440h is 215 min for 230V and 180 min for 115V.
The pull-down time for the F440n is 3h 35 min for the 230 V variant and 3h for 115 V.

How does the insulation of the CryoCube F440h differ from that of the CryoCube F440n ?

​The insulation of the CryoCube F440h is composed of environmental friendly polyurethane foam and vacuum insulation panels. The CryoCube F440n is insulated exclusively with PU foam.

Are the racks of the U410 or U410HEF compatible with the CryoCube F440h/n ?
