Versatility Solution

Centrifuge Solution for antigen concentration, hybridoma technology, PBMC isolation and FACS/Flow cytometry

Purifying peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC), FACS/Flow cytometry and hybridoma technology include multiple centrifugation steps of temperature-sensitive samples in many different consumables. This requires great versatility and an advanced temperature management. In addition, PBMC isolation by Ficoll® gradient centrifugation must be carried out with a minimum of vibration during deceleration (breaking) within reasonable time. Optimized acceleration and deceleration ramps speed up high-yield PBMC isolation up to 88% (see Application Note 372). Refrigerated benchtop Centrifuge 5910 Ri in combination with swing-bucket Rotor S-4xUniversal offer great versatile and an advanced cooling performance for optimal sample protection. The new user management including run records optimally supports GxP documentation.

Increased Efficiency

  • Faster PBMC isolation due to optimized acceleration and deceleration ramps for Ficoll-Paque® density gradient centrifugation.
  • Rotor S-4xUniversal with universal buckets and universal adapters that can spin a selection of tubes, plates and bottles, no need to change rotor, buckets or adapters.
  • Change parameters such as time, temperature and speed in just seconds with the favorites function and quickly access frequently used protocols with the program function. Both functions are directly accessible from the home screen.

Improved Sample Safety

  • End of run counter (time after rotor stopped) to provide information whether PBMCs are still well separated by Ficoll-gradient and thus a maximum yield of viable cells is obtained.
  • Accurate cooling with intelligent Dynamic Compressor Control (DCC) for optimal sample integrity. Unlike other compressors which switch back and forth between 0% and 100% performance output, DCC allows for a constant and smooth temperature regulation. This results in a precise cooling performance and the set temperature is kept stable at all time.
  • In the case of a leakage, you can carry the closed bucket securely to the biosafety cabinet with optional aerosol-tight caps.

 

Better Ergonomics

  • New optional Eppendorf mobile tables lower centrifuge to an ergonomic height for easy loading and unloading of samples and rotors for a more ergonomic work environment.
  • Particularly low access height for easy operation. This not only facilitates easy loading and unloading, it also enables everyone in the lab to easily reach the open centrifuge lid.
  • For ergonomic lid operation Eppendorf designed the soft-touch lid closure system. There is no need to exert unnecessary force when closing the centrifuge lid. In combination with a low opening height you can close the centrifuge with ease.
