What does a CO2 or LN2 backup system offer?
The backup systems are independent systems which ensure the protection of samples in the event of a mains/power outage or damage to the device by injecting liquid LN2 or CO2 into the device. They are controlled by an independent temperature sensor. Carbon dioxide systems maintain temperatures between -40 ºC and -70 ºC for a period of up to 48 hours. Liquid nitrogen reserve systems keep the freezer temperature at -86 ºC for a few hours. CO2 systems and LN2 systems can be retrofitted by the user.
