Eppendorf PhysioCare Concept® – Tubes®

Eppendorf consumables are the result of over 50 years constant improvement and development. In 1963 a series of innovative consumables products to match all common lab procedures started with the legendary "Eppi". Since then, we have continuously improved workflows and experimental results. Purest assay results are no coincidence. Eppendorf consumables with unique features make every day routines faster, easier, and more reliable. Due to the avoidance of any slip agents, plasticizers, and biocides during manufacturing, the risk of chemical leaching into the sample is minimized. The availabilityof different purity grades is tailored to the various requirements in laboratories. Make sure that you select certified confidence in line with your applications and achieve reliable results every time.

Used in a daily routine

Although consumables do not fit to the classical approach of ergonomics like weight or noise level, there are quite some aspects which should be kept in mind when working with consumables in the lab.

OptiTrack Matrix

A high-contrast alphanumeric labeling of the wells enables an up t0 30% faster well identification and less pipetting errors

Lid rim

15 mL and 50 mL conical tubes

Caps with flattened and grooved sides support a user-friendly ergonomic handling.

Lid opening

Simple, practical and ergonomic single-hand operation of microtubes (0.2 to 5 mL) enables fast processing without stressing the finger and wrist muscles.

Color code of tubes for storage

The different colors of the microtubes enabels an easy re-finding of samples. E.g. DNA samples are stored in clear tubes, protein samples are stored in blue tubes, buffers are stored in yellow tubes.

Labeling of tubes

Microtubes and conical tubes

Clear writing enables safe identification of samples. Printed paper labels with clear ducktape instead of handwriting can be read by everyone in th elab. Every tube should be marked with at least sample name, date, owner, and concentration where necessary.

Contrast of writing

Conical tubes

Quite often, the lids of conical tubes are used for labeling purposes. The light grey caps provide a high contrast for most writing colors - easy reading, less errors.
