Are Eppendorf tubes, plates (also LoBind variants), and pipette tips resistant to 100% acetonitrile?

Eppendorf tubes, plates including LoBind, and pipette tips are resistant to 100% acetonitrile only in room temperature conditions. Above 40°C and prolonged exposure (days) may lead to partial damage and is not recommended. For lower acetonitrile concentrations the resistance parameters will be better so prolonged exposure and higher temperatures may be possible. This must be however tested by the customer.

Why are microplate sealing options needed in your workflows?

Increasingly, 96 and 384 well format plates are being used in the lab, to help simplify and accelerate the handling of large numbers of samples. These plates also enable certain work steps to be automated more easily.

Which Eppendorf microplate sealing options should I choose?

The type of seal will depend on your application, and the required tightness, temperature, chemical resistance, and handling considerations. As explained in Userguide 43, if special chemicals such as acids, bases or organic solvents are being used, the most important consideration is the compatibility of the seal with the respective substance. This Userguide investigated the chemical resistance of the various sealing options offered by Eppendorf for Deepwell Plates, Microplates, and PCR Plates.
