Why should I have my Orbital Shaker serviced at regular intervals?

As with all products with moving parts, wear and tear is inevitable and can affect how consistently the product operates over a long period of time. Eppendorf products are engineered to minimize wear and tear, but a periodic service allows early identification and tracking of excessive wear before product performance is outside of acceptable tolerances. Regular servicing may also be a regulatory requirement of our users.

How often does my orbital shaker need to be serviced?

Eppendorf recommends a service once every 12 months. However, the regulatory requirements of our users vary greatly and can often be more frequent.

How much are the different orbital shaker service programs?

The cost depends on the product variant and on the level of service that is required. Please contact your local Eppendorf Service centre for a personal quotation. www.eppendorf.com/contact

What is IQ or OQ and what do I need them for?

Installation and Operational Qualification; the Installation Qualification documents that the product has been delivered and installed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and guidelines. The Operational Qualification checks the correct functioning of a device in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and guidelines (as such, it can only be provided by the equipment manufacturer). IQ/OQ is primarily required in organizations that implement quality management processes but is available to all users.

Various test tube racks are available for tube diameters of 8 – 30 mm / 0.31 – 1.18 in and with adjustable angle and tube height support. The insert rack can be removed from the holder for easy transport to the bench. Microplate racks for universal platforms are available in two formats: for stacking or for single layers. Test Tube Racks have an adjustable angle and tube height support. Made from stainless-steel with inserts to help retain tubes and prevent them from spinning in the rack. Finger-tight knobs let you quickly adjust angle, or release the rack from the base plate, for easy transport to the bench.
