Are Eppendorf consumables free of RNA?

All consumables certified with "PCR clean" are tested free of human DNA, DNase, RNase and PCR inhibitors. The following applies from our point of view: where no human DNA is detected, there can also be no RNA, which is considerably more unstable.

Are Eppendorf tubes, plates (also LoBind variants), and pipette tips resistant to 100% acetonitrile?

Eppendorf tubes, plates including LoBind, and pipette tips are resistant to 100% acetonitrile only in room temperature conditions. Above 40°C and prolonged exposure (days) may lead to partial damage and is not recommended. For lower acetonitrile concentrations the resistance parameters will be better so prolonged exposure and higher temperatures may be possible. This must be however tested by the customer.

Individual Eppendorf PCR tubes – 0.2 mL or 0.5 mL

PCR strips with separate caps – 0.1 mL or 0.2 mL

Our Cap Strips make sealing PCR plates, tubes, and multi-well plates quick and easy. Each strip contains eight caps, suitable for 0.1 mL and 0.2 mL tube wells.

Consumables for real-time PCR (qPCR) applications

For real-time PCR (qPCR), choose flat caps or Masterclear^® 8-strip PCR tubes for maximum transparency, or domed caps for a tighter seal with a heated lid.

Working with fast thermal cyclers or enzymes?

If you’re working with fast cyclers or enzymes, our Fast PCR Tube Strips are designed for you. Made from polyethylene, they transfer heat rapidly for better reaction control and higher PCR yield. Each strip includes eight 0.1 mL tubes, with or without caps, and is compatible with both endpoint PCR and qPCR applications.
Sterilization is simple—just autoclave for 20 minutes at 121 °C.
