Microorganisms

Microbiology is the study of microorganisms, a large and diverse group of organisms that exist as single cells or cell clusters. It is a broad biological discipline which includes basic research as well as applied science. The identification of microorganisms is part of medical microbiology as well as quality testing e.g. in pharmaceutical and food industry. Examples for the usage of microbes in industrial processes include fermentation (e.g. production of food & beverages, drugs, vaccines, biofuels, enzymes) and waste-water treatment.

Transformation

Electroporation can be used for the insertion of DNA into electro competent bacteria and yeasts. Compared to chemical methods, electroporation yields much higher transformation efficiency. It also gives more reproducible results than other methods.

Cultivation

The New Brunswick Shakers are robust and flexible shakers that provide very broad temperature capabilities for culturing a wide variety of organisms. With our comprehensive range of bioprocess solutions microorganisms can be cultivated under controlled conditions, e.g. using single-use vessels.

Storage

The New Brunswick freezers meet the highest standards for quality in regard to performance, sample security, and convenience. To concentrate your samples prior to the storage, the Concentrator plus is available as well as different Deepwell plates including sealing options.
