Eppendorf: climate-neutral by 2028

The globally positioned Eppendorf Group, a life science specialist, is picking up speed when it comes to climate protection. The company is reducing its CO2 emissions and will be climate-neutral by 2028 – much earlier than specified by the EU. To enable this, Eppendorf has developed a company-wide climate strategy with numerous measures for reducing its CO2 emissions.

The independent jury chaired by Prof. Reinhard Jahn selected Dr. Thi Hoang Duong Nguyen, MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK as the winner of the Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators 2022.

Eppendorf increases 2021 revenue to €1.1 billion

Hamburg, May 10, 2022 – During fiscal year 2021, the globally positioned Eppendorf Group saw its consolidated revenue climb to €1.1 billion (prior year: €967.2 million), amounting to an increase of 13.8% (prior year: 20.3%). Operating profit also rose significantly in 2021, reaching €272 million (prior year: €217.7 million) with an EBIT margin of 24.7% (prior year: 22.5%).

Eppendorf builds new site in Wismar for high-tech polymers used in laboratories

The globally active Eppendorf Group is building a new plant for high-quality laboratory consumables made of functional high-tech polymers. To this end, the Hamburg-based life science company is acquiring a former production site at the location of MV Werften Fertigmodule Property GmbH in Wismar in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The site is currently home to more than 20,000 m2 of usable space with production and storage areas as well as office and ancillary buildings. Production of the first high-tech polymer products is scheduled to start at the end of this year.

Eppendorf donates 100,000 euros for Ukraine emergency relief and launches Corporate Volunteering Program

Hamburg, March 29, 2022 – Hamburg-based life science company Eppendorf has launched a comprehensive support package for refugees from Ukraine. The program is designed to provide rapid and uncomplicated assistance to those in need of protection. It includes a cash donation of 100,000 euros to the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF, as well as an internal company aid program. This enables European Eppendorf employees to take time off with continued payment of wages and salaries to get involved in refugee relief, if they wish to do so.
