To protect the O-rings of the epMotion 96 from erosion we recommend to lubricate them with a thin layer of silicone spray.

How can I transfer volatile liquids (ethanol) with the epMotion 96 without drop formation on the tips?

We recommend to pre-wet the tips of the epMotion 96 via 2-3 aspration and dispensing cycles to avoid drop formation on the tips. Furthermore a low speed level (1-5) is advantageous. More information are available in White paper 39 .

How can I transfer viscous liquids with the epMotion 96?

When dispensing small volumes of 1-5 µL some points have to be considered: 1) Use 50 µL tips 2) Always dispense into liquid or on a liquid surface 3) Use speed 9 for dispensing 4) Immerse the tip 2-3 mm into the liquid, press dispense and slowly remove the tip from the liquid

A pop-up window asks me to perform a firmware update after I staretd my iPod. How can I perform the firmware update?

Performing the firmware update is mandatory when the pop-up window showed, otherwise accurate pipetting and multiple functions on the epMotion96 and 96xl are not available. A firmware update is easily done by following the steps in short protocol 27 "How to perform a firmware update on epMotion 96 and epMotion 96xl".
