ep Dualfilter T.I.P.S.384 from Eppendorf are the first filter pipette tips with elastic forming grooves that allow the tips to stretch as much as necessary to enable a perfect seal, while also keeping operating forces to a minimum. These tips were designed to be used with Eppendorf 16- and 24-channel pipettes as well as 20 µL and 100 µL Move It® adjustable tip spacing pipettes in any application involving 384-well plates. Use this perfectly optimized pipette and filter tip system to benefit from outstanding tip fit and tightness combined with reduced tip attachment and ejection forces. Offering an extremely fine tip shape and the ultimate coaxiality for a perfect tip alignment, it couldn’t be easier to perfectly hit all 384 wells!
ep Dualfilter T.I.P.S. 384 pipette tips for 384-well plates are the latest addition to the premium ep Dualfilter T.I.P.S. family from Eppendorf. Both provide the ultimate protection of pipette and sample against unintentional and unnoticed contamination by aerosols, drops and splashes. The aerosol barrier pipette tips are optimized for Eppendorf pipettes and meet EN ISO 8655 requirements. Want to easily, quickly and safely fill a 24-, 96- or even a 384-well microplate? Get a higher volume of precision work done by combining the lightweight Eppendorf Research® plus or the electronic Xplorer® plus 8- and 12-channel pipettes featuring 9 mm cone distances for 96-well plates with ep Dualfilter T.I.P.S. filter pipette tips. To meet the demands of even higher throughput and smaller sample volumes, Eppendorf recently launched 16- and 24-channel pipettes as well as selected Move It® adjustable tip spacing pipettes with a (min.) cone distance of 4.5 mm. ep Dualfilter T.I.P.S. 384 are designed to work with these pipettes and extend the Eppendorf manual pipetting range to 384-well plates. Working manually with 384-well plates requires a pipette-tip system that can handle tiny wells precisely and efficiently.

Spring loaded tip cone for reliable tip fit and low tip attachment forces
The spring-loaded tip cone saves you time and energy. With haptic feedback there is no need for physical force. Just use one gentle downward push until you receive the haptic feedback to guarantee a perfect and reliable tip fit. The spring limits the attachment forces and at the same time guarantees a reproducible and safe tip fit. It provides increased user-to-user reproducibility for more uniform results among members of the lab. All non-adjustable micropipettes from Eppendorf up to 1,000 µL are equipped with spring-loaded tip cones.
SOFTeject reduces tip ejection forces by 50 %
All non-adjustable multi-channel pipettes from Eppendorf use the innovative SOFTeject technology to ensure that during each single tip ejection stroke, the outside tips eject before the inside tips. This is not noticeable to the user but reduces tip ejection forces by 50 %. Lightly press the ejection button just once and the tips are automatically ejected in succession.
Disposal of ep Dualfilter T.I.P.S. 384 pipette tips and their packaging material
Recycling of materials becomes more and more important every day. E.g. in Europe almost 100 % of cardboard material is already recycled. The packaging material of the ep Dualfilter T.I.P.S 384 pipette tips is made of different materials – for the most part made from cardboard.
Eppendorf consumables and thus also ep Dualfilter T.I.P.S. 384 pipette tips are shipped in packaging in which both the shipping carton consists of at least 37 % and the folding carton consist of at least 60 % recycled cardboard.
Please support our global sustainability initiative of recycling valuable raw material by collecting the cardboard packaging material of tubes. Dispose of the packaging material in the designated collection containers in your organization and region.
After usage, the tips themselves are defined as potentially being contaminated. This contamination can be based on biohazard, chemical hazard, or even nuclear hazard. Therefore, recycling of these tips can be challenging. In many countries, critical waste must be burned due to legal restrictions. However, energy and heat can be recovered from thermal recycling of contaminated laboratory consumables.
To reduce the amount of critical plastic waste, you should use at least two waste containers: One for critical waste and one for non-critical waste. The definition of these two groups may depend on local regulations and should be communicated/trained in your lab accordingly. For further local waste recycling options please contact your local biosafety officer and your local waste management.
We strongly recommend a certified local recycling partner. Keeping it "local" will reduce the impact of transportation, and the "certified" aspect is recommended due to the safe and sustainable handling of lab waste.
