Mastercycler® nexus X2 - PCR Thermal Cycler

Product Information

The Mastercycler® nexus X2 is Eppendorf's solution for busy PCR labs. Two totally independent protocols can be run on the two blocks, so two PCR users can independently start and end their PCR reactions whenever they want. One of the assays can even have up to 64 samples. With less than 40 dB[a] noise emission, the nexus PCR cycler is whisper quiet and also very energy efficient.

          Features

Run two independent protocols simultaneously on one PCR thermal cycler with the Eppendorf Mastercycler® nexus X2. The 32-well block is well suited for small assays, whereas larger assays can be run on the 64-well block, which is available with a gradient function.

Like every member of the Mastercycler nexus family, the Mastercycler nexus X2 can be combined with all other family members in a network of up to three units. In combination with Eppendorf’s PCR tubes, PCR strips or divisible plates, the Mastercycler nexus X2 will give you consistent, publication-ready results – every day!

The flexlid® concept for effortless height adjustment

The flexlid concept enables the nexus X2 PCR thermal cycler to deal with all types of consumables, from low volume all the way up to 0.5 mL PCR tubes. Of course, all common PCR plates fit – and if you ever need higher throughput, you can simply connect one or two Mastercycler nexus X2 eco units to your Mastercycler nexus.

          Gradient with SteadySlope® technology

The Mastercycler pro’s gradient option features SteadySlope technology to ensure that heating and cooling ramp rates are identical in both gradient and normal operation. This gives you identical temperature control characteristics in both optimization and routine experiments. Programming the gradient with the Control Panel and the CycleManager pro is easy and intuitive, so that new users can get started quickly and safely.

          Certified quality

All Eppendorf cyclers follow these quality guidelines:
          • Individual quality control certificates
          • Calibration according to national and international standards, e.g. NIST (USA), DKD/PTB (Germany), UKAS/NPL (UK)
          • UL/cUL listed

          Improving ergonomics across the lab

Ergonomics goes far beyond just the ergonomically designed chair. At Eppendorf, we began optimizing our laboratory devices for ergonomics in the early 1970s.

In 2003, we launched the PhysioCare Concept®, focusing on ergonomic liquid handling devices, like our pipettes.

Since then we’ve broadened the Eppendorf PhysioCare Concept to include many laboratory products, including PCR cyclers. Our aim is to offer a holistic solution for harmonizing the workflow in your laboratory with your health and wellbeing.

For the Eppendorf Mastercyler range, this means:

          • Ergonomically designed lid closure
          • Low noise level for convenient working conditions at the bench
          • Small footprint to enable position in direct arm reach at your bench
          • Standardized user-interface concept for intuitive handling of devices
          • Guided software for easy handling

          Disposal of packaging

The packaging of the PCR cycler contains different materials, this includes cardboard, a plastic dust cover, and some foam parts. Recycling of materials becomes more and more important every day: Are you aware that nearly all cardboard material is recycled in Europe? Our cycler packaging cardboard material consists of approx. 60 % recycling material. Please support the global sustainability initiative of recycling valuable raw material by also collecting the cycler cardboard packaging material and disposing of it in the appropriate collection container at your organization. In respect to the plastic dust cover made of LD-PE and the foam parts, we recommend to select a dedicated recycling partner where PE material can be recycled. We suggest you contact your local waste hauler or facility management team to understand the available recycling options for your organization.

          Disposal of instrument

Our cyclers last for many years, but if they need to be replaced, we kindly ask you to fulfill local requirements for disposal of these instruments. We strongly recommend a certified local recycling partner with experience in instruments with electronics. Keeping it "local" reduces the impact of transportation, and the "certified" aspect is recommended due to the safe and sustainable removal of specific parts.

          Decontamination

This piece of equipment was used in a laboratory and/or was used to handle biological samples. Please keep in mind to adequately decontaminate the equipment which needs to be disposed. Check local requirements. For more information, get in contact with your local biosafety officer and/or waste officer. Check if your local recycling partner has special instructions and/or documentation requirements. You may also use the Eppendorf decontamination form sheet as guidance.
