BioBLU^® Single-Use Bioreactors reduce the contamination risk

BioBLU Single-Use Bioreactors offer non-invasive sensor options for temperature, dissolved oxygen, and pH. This avoids direct contact of the sensors with the medium and thus reduces the risk of contamination. Furthermore, in case of in-process sensors failure and replacement, the non-invasive sensor technology provides a risk-free exchange of sensors. Sealed magnetic bearings further reduce the contamination risk.

The use of disposable bioreactors saves time because they do not need to be cleaned after use. This helps increasing turn-around and furthermore eliminates the risk of cross contamination between runs. The rigid-wall design of BioBLU Single-Use Bioreactors simplifies installation. BioBLU Single-Use Bioreactors are available in different sizes and facilitate bioprocessing in working volumes from 65 mL to 40 L. The differently sized bioreactors have similar geometries. Scale-up relevant parameters, like tip speed range, power numbers, and k_La range have been characterized to support scale-up strategy development. This is further simplified by the Scale Up Assist software feature of some Eppendorf bioreactor controllers. This feature even supports scale-up beyond the BioBLU family, to volumes up to 2000 L. BioBLU^® Single-Use Bioreactor versions are made for different process needs

Bioprocess requirements may differ between applications. Several BioBLU Single-Use Bioreactor versions were designed to meet them. They differ in the sparger type, number of impellers, impeller type, and compatible sensor types. Furthermore, single-use septa, tri-ports, and compression fitting adaptors facilitate the flexible use of Pg 13.5 ports. In this way you can choose the BioBLU version that best suits your process requirements regarding gassing, agitation, and liquid handling.
