Fast temperature transfer for plates needed? – Form-fitting SmartBlocks
Have you measured your sample's temperature profile over time? You might be surprised by how much it can deviate from the setpoint and how long it can take to reach the target temperature – despite fast heating or cooling rates which always refer to the block and not the sample temperature.
The temperature profile of a sample is influenced by the heat transfer efficiency. For this reason, tube-specific thermoblocks contact all sides of the tube except the lid to enhance transfer efficiency. For plates, two thermoblock types exist: flat-bottom and form-fitting blocks akin to PCR cyclers.
Form-fitting blocks, like SmartBlocks for deep-well (96 well, 500 or 1000 µl) and PCR plates (96/384 well), enable rapid temperature transfer, ensuring the target temperature is reached quickly, even in short protocols (see exemplary comparison of thermal images after 5 min of incubation on the right).
Tip: If you are planning mixing tasks using DWP or PCR plates, measure the temperature profile, compare it with your target profile and consider form-fitting blocks.
Parallel incubation at a different temperature – SmartExtender
You want even more flexibility? How about a second incubation temperature or 50 % more capacity for incubating your 1.5 mL tubes?
The optional SmartExtender accommodates up to 12 x 1.5 mL tubes and is compatible with all Eppendorf SmartBlocks – for example for simultaneous enzymatic reactions at 37 °C or 95 °C. The independent heating function allows concurrent use with an Eppendorf SmartBlock, while preserving its heating, cooling, and mixing capabilities.
Easy tube transfer and synchronized start of reactions – Transfer Rack
Need a 60-second incubation for 24 samples tubes simultaneously? The Eppendorf Transfer Rack facilitates safe and easy transfer of up to 24 tubes in parallel to or from the Eppendorf SmartBlock, ensuring consistent reaction conditions for all samples. Compatible with SmartBlock sizes of 0.5 mL, 1.5 mL, and 2.0 mL, the Transfer Rack is included as standard. It holds up to 24 microtubes, allowing convenient transfer of hot vessels without risk of burns.
Tip: Use the Transfer Rack lid for quick inversion of all tubes or to ensure equal fit in the SmartBlock with a quick press.

In addition to form-fitting SmartBlocks for 96- and 384-well PCR plates and the ThermoTop® for efficient temperature transfer (see above), we offer additional accessories for your mixing tasks.

Entsorgung des Verpackungsmaterials
Die Verpackung des Mischers besteht aus verschiedenen Materialien, darunter Pappe, ein Staubschutz aus Plastik und einige Schaumstoffteile. Das Recycling von Materialien wird immer wichtiger: Wussten Sie, dass in Europa Pappe zu fast 100 % recycelt wird? Die im Verpackungsmaterial unserer Mischer verwendete Pappe besteht zu ca. 60 % aus Recyclingmaterial. Unterstützen auch Sie die globale Nachhaltigkeitsinitiative für mehr Recycling kostbarer Rohstoffe und entsorgen Sie die Pappe von der Verpackung Ihres ThermoMixers in einem dafür vorgesehenen Container in Ihrem Unternehmen. Für die Entsorgung des Plastikstaubschutzes aus LD-PE und der Schaumstoffteile empfehlen wir die Zusammenarbeit mit einem Recyclingpartner, der das Recycling von PE-Materialien anbietet. Wenden Sie sich an Ihr Entsorgungsunternehmen vor Ort oder Ihr Gebäudemanagementteam, um mehr über die Recyclingmöglichkeiten für Ihr Unternehmen zu erfahren.
Entsorgung der Geräte
Unsere Mischer sind viele Jahre im Betrieb. Wenn dann aber doch die Entsorgung ansteht, beachten Sie bitte die örtlichen Entsorgungsvorschriften für diese Geräte. Wir empfehlen dringend die Beauftragung eines zertifizierten Recyclingpartners vor Ort, der Erfahrung mit der Entsorgung von Geräten mit Elektronik hat. Mit der Entscheidung für einen Partner vor Ort vermeiden Sie lange Transportwege. Der Zertifizierungsaspekt ist wichtig, weil nur so die einzelnen Teile sicher und nachhaltig entsorgt werden können.
Dekontaminierung
Dieses Gerät wurde in einem Labor verwendet und/oder enthielt biologische Proben. Bitte vergessen Sie nicht, die Geräte vor der Entsorgung adäquat zu dekontaminieren. Prüfen Sie die lokalen Anforderungen. Weitere Informationen erhalten Sie von Ihrem Beauftragten für biologische Sicherheit und/oder Abfallentsorgung. Klären Sie besondere Anforderungen an Handhabung und/oder Dokumentation mit Ihrem Recyclingpartner vor Ort. Die Dekontaminationsbescheinigung von Eppendorf kann Ihnen dabei als Orientierungshilfe dienen.
