Day Shift Machine Operator f/m/d
Career Level: Direct Entry
Employment: Fulltime, permanent
Start: Immediately
Location: Enfield, CT (US)
Job-ID: R11629
Company: Eppendorf Manufacturing, Corp.
Improving human living conditions – that is our shared purpose at Eppendorf. With our high-quality, precise premium life science products – from pipette tips, dispensers and centrifuges to bioreactors and ultra-low temperature freezers – we help scientists around the world conduct research in the lab faster, more accurately and more efficiently.
I listen to truly understand.
I lead the way, even when the path ahead is not yet clear.
I stand by what I say.
I make progress visible and share what I learn.
If this resonates with you, you are exactly who we are looking for.
You will work with people who combine different perspectives and make new things possible. You contribute your ideas, ask questions, challenge the status quo – and you will find an environment that empowers you and helps you grow. Because we believe in people who want to shape the future. People like you.
How you can make an impact
Work a 12‑hour rotating day shift (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.), helping to keep our production lines running reliably.
Operate different machines and automated work cells and, when needed, manage more than one work cell at a time.
Perform packing line changes and troubleshoot shrink wrap machines, label printers and basic machine/automation alarms using HMI controllers.
Apply established troubleshooting techniques to find and correct production or automation issues, ensuring stable and efficient operations.
Accurately document and enter production data into the production monitoring system (Hydra) and carry out routine quality inspections to identify defects or imperfections.
Handle materials – such as getting and loading supplies with a pallet jack or other power equipment – and support other production tasks within your skill set, including during staffing shortages.
Follow all policies and protocols (documentation, safety, cleaning and gowning) and clearly communicate production results or issues to Work Cell Technicians or your supervisor.
What sets you apart
Bringing a high school diploma or trade school degree (GED) and around 3–4 years of related experience and/or training; a combination of education and experience is welcomed.
Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment, ideally with automated equipment or packaging lines.
Practical mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills that help you quickly identify and resolve basic equipment issues.
Comfortable using HMIs and basic production IT systems to enter data and monitor performance.
A focus on safety, quality and documentation – you follow procedures reliably and pay attention to detail.
A team-oriented mindset: you communicate clearly with colleagues, support others when needed and share information openly across shifts.
What we offer
We value your contribution. An hourly wage of $18.00, and bonus eligibility reflects the importance of your role in our production team.
Purpose and impact. Your work helps ensure that high-quality life science products reach laboratories around the world.
Rotating Schedule. A 12‑hour rotating day shift (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) offers the ideal work-life balance and more days off than the average first shift.
Part of something bigger. You work in a team that keeps our production running smoothly and safely every day
What matters to us
At Eppendorf, we believe that science thrives on curiosity – and on many different perspectives.
Our Eppendorf team is as diverse as the questions asked across the life sciences. Different backgrounds and ways of thinking help us develop better solutions for research.
Come as you are, bring what makes you unique – and help us shape what diversity can make possible in science.
Please note that we can only consider applications submitted via our online application system.
We look forward to getting to know you.
