How can I connect a vacuum pump to Concentrator 5301 basic device (5301 000.016)?
An external vacuum pump with a power consumption of < 350 W can be connected directly to Concentrator using a connecting cable. A socket is located on the rear of the device. An external vacuum pump with a power consumption of > 350 W must be connected directly to the mains supply. To achieve this a solenoid valve which has a special plug for connection to the vacuum pump should be switched between vacuum pump and concentrator.

How does one connect a vacuum pump to the Concentrator plus basic device?
An external vacuum pump with a power input of < 400 W can be connected directly to the basic device with a special plug. A socket is found at the rear of the device. In contrast, an external vacuum pump with a power input of > 400 W must be connected directly to the power supply. The control of the pump by the Concentrator in this case takes place via a solenoid valve located between the vacuum pump and the Concentrator plus. Further Information about the connection of an external vacuum pump can be found in our Userguide 030 (in "Notes & Papers").

How many speed-controlled pumps do the DASbox Mini Bioreactors feature?
The DASbox Mini Bioreactor System provides two integrated peristaltic speed-controlled pumps per vessel as standard. Two extra feed lines per bioreactor can be added using a DASGIP MP8 multi pump module. Each peristaltic pump can be operated independently.

How many speed-controlled pumps do the DASGIP bioreactors feature?
Up to eight peristaltic speed-controlled pumps per vessel offer continuous flow rates from 0.3 mL/h - 5 L/h. Each pump can be operated independently. Two different pump head sizes for the multi pump modules DASGIP MP4 and MP8, fitting various tube sizes make the DASGIP multi pumps a flexible and accurate solution.

What are the preconditions for connecting a vacuum pump to Concentrator basic device (5301 000.016)?
In order to ensure the functionality of the Concentrator a vacuum pump should have a pumping capacity of 1,7 cubic meter/h at 50 Hz and 2,0 cubic meter/h at 60 Hz respectively. The maximum vacuum should be at least < 20hPa (< 20 mbar) with a maximum counter-pressure of 2 mbar. The vacuum pump should be chemically resistant.

What is the diaphragm vacuum pump of the Concentrator made of?
The inside of the pump is coated with polytetrafluoro ethylene (PTFE). This fluorinated plastics are extremely chemically resistance, thus enabling the application with even aggressive gases. With Concentrator Complete System the feeder to the pump is also PTFE-coated.
