Why choose Eppendorf lab tubes?
The first Eppendorf tube was developed over 60 years ago. Since then, our tubes have been well-loved and trusted in labs around the world. When walking into any lab, you’re likely to hear phrases like “Can you please pass me the Eppi® ?”, and “Where did my Ep tubes go?!”
Eppendorf Tubes® are an excellent alternative to test tubes, being suitable for centrifugation, with sterile options, secure lids, graduated markings, and a large size variety. There are several reasons why Eppendorf Tubes are so well-loved in labs around the world, including their diversity and quality:
Diversity – From the very first Eppi® tube created in 1963, our lab tube range has continuously evolved and expanded to help scientists enhance their lab life. Our microliter system now includes a wide range of microcentrifuge tubes, PCR tubes, and conical tubes, available in sizes ranging from 0.1 mL to 50 mL. Our tubes have a variety of features, including different purity grades, enhanced leak protection, barcodes, and maximized protein recovery or nucleic acid recovery.
Quality – No matter which Eppendorf lab tube you choose, outstanding quality is a given. All our tubes are made from high-quality virgin polypropylene (PP) that is free of biocides, plasticizers, and latex. Our tubes are also designed and manufactured under an ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 certified Management System, with full traceability back to material lot for each product.
You can learn more about the features and benefits of individual Eppendorf Tubes in our brochure.

Looking to reduce your lab’s carbon footprint?
Make sustainability your lab’s priority with Eppendorf Tubes® BioBased and Eppendorf Safe-Lock® tubes BioBased. These are made with at least 90 % biobased plastic (according to mass-balance approach, more information at eppendorf.link/biobased ) that can be traced back to biological waste material. Our BioBased tubes are available with a screw cap in volumes from 0.5 mL to 50 mL, and are ideal for cell culture, cellular biology, microbiology, and molecular biology applications.
Level up your lab tube storage, organization, and identification
For day-to-day sample processing and transport in the lab, browse our Eppendorf Tube Racks and Cuvette Rack , which are designed for convenience and organization. For longer-term tube storage, our Eppendorf Storage Boxes are a convenient choice, with their space-saving design and suitability for ultra-low temperature environments and autoclaving.
In addition to organization and storage, tube identification is also essential to avoid losing or mixing up your samples. Eppendorf SafeCode Tubes offer a reliable solution for sample identification, with their clear 2D barcoding system. Eppendorf CryoStorage Vial Tubes are also available, which are designed for safe tube storage and identification at ultra-low temperatures.
