Why choose an Eppendorf positive displacement pipette?

Efficiency
Our positive displacement pipettes are multi-dispensers, with the ability to aspirate liquid once and then dispense up to 100 times. This can drastically enhance efficiency when carrying out repetitive pipetting tasks, like filling tubes and plates, or aliquoting reagents. These dispenser pipettes also have intuitive user interfaces and automatic tip recognition (when used with Combitips® advanced and ViscoTip® positive displacement dispenser tips) . Tip recognition sensors automatically recognize the size of the tip, eliminating time-consuming volume calculations and avoiding incorrect dispensing volumes.
Accuracy and comfort
Our positive displacement pipettes are an excellent choice for applications demanding high accuracy and precision, even when pipetting volatile, viscous, dense, hot, cold, or other challenging liquids. Eppendorf dispensers are also built with comfort in mind, with their ergonomic design features ensuring effortless and fatigue-free pipetting. もっと読む

Safety
Positive displacement pipette systems ensure that the pipetting system is unaffected by the density or viscosity of the liquid, and because no aerosols can leave the tips with integrated pistons, you can more safely dispense solutions that contain radioactive and/or toxic substances, as well as solutions that have a high vapor pressure. This makes these Eppendorf dispenser pipettes well-suited for a wide range of labs, including molecular biology, cell biology, and microbiology.
An eco-conscious choice
Eppendorf multi-dispenser pipettes have been designed with their environmental impact in mind. Exemplifying this, our multi-dispensing pipette models and Combitips® advanced dispenser tips have been awarded with the ACT® Environmental Impact Factor Label . This award showcases our dedication to eco-conscious manufacturing and helping labs around the world improve their environmental impact.
Which Eppendorf positive displacement pipette should you choose?
Mechanical or electronic?
Mechanical multi-dispenser pipettes like the Eppendorf Multipette M4 are a simpler and lower-cost option, ideal for a range of serial pipetting tasks. However, electronic dispenser pipettes like the Multipette E3/Multipette E3x have a motor-driven piston that improves speed and comfort, making this type of pipette more suitable for labs requiring higher efficiency or throughput. Our electronic multi-dispenser pipettes enable automated serial dispensing, with the ability to dispense volumes at timed intervals between 0.1 s and 10 s. With this function, you can avoid needing to manually operate the button each time the liquid is dispensed, further enhancing efficiency and comfort.

Aspirating unknown volumes?
The Multipette E3 multi-dispensing pipette offers three main operating modes: Dispensing, Automatic Dispensing, and Pipetting. However, the Multipette E3x comes with four additional modes for enhanced functionality. These modes include Sequential Dispensing, Aspiration, Aspiration/Dispensing, and Titration.
With the Aspiration/Dispensing mode, you can aspirate unspecified volumes. This can benefit several applications, including when extracting a supernatant and distributing it across multiple reaction tubes. This mode is also useful for determining whether the remaining liquid in a supply bottle is adequate for an experiment.

What is your intended dispensing range?
Eppendorf dispenser pipettes have wide dispensing ranges, starting from as low as 1 µL. This makes all models suitable for precisely dispensing small volumes. If you’re looking to dispense larger volumes, the Multipette M4 can dispense volumes up to 10 mL, whereas the Multipette E3/E3x can dispense up to 50 mL in multiple aliquots.
