How Epileptic Events Can Affect Alzheimer's
Lab Academy
Get to know Sara from Eastern Finland. She is doing her PhD in behavioral studies, dedicating her research to the Alzheimer disease. Epileptic events during non-REM sleep of Alzheimer patients can lead to memory loss. The connection between these events to short term memories is part of her studies. One day treatment during sleep of the patients could lead to a better life for them and slower degradation of the memories or brain. Additionally learn about her motivation to become a scientist and why life-work balance is also tremendously important in academic research.
