What keeps you from speeding up your PCR to the max?
Lab Academy
We will discuss the background of speed in PCR cyclers, including technical specifications and materials. We will reveal the secret of ramp rates and go into the details of PCR optimization. Finally, we will explain the correct combination of cycler, consumable and reagent to get the maximum out of your PCR.
Your learnings:
- Technical background of PCR cyclers
- What is responsible for speed in your PCR experiment
- The ideal combination for speeding up your PCR

Speaker bio
Hanae König, Global Marketing Manager PCR & ThermoMixer, Eppendorf SEHanae König studied biology, focusing on medical microbiology during her PhD. After starting with Eppendorf as an application specialist for PCR she took different positions in the company and currently enjoys coordinating the global marketing of PCR and mixer devices.
Adam Waite, Product Manager for amplification reagents, Promega
Adam Waite is the Product Manager for amplification reagents at Promega in Madison, WI. He studied biology with additional focus on biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Shortly after, he joined Sigma-Aldrich (now MilliporeSigma) where he first supported and then managed the life science solvent product line. He completed his MBA at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee before transitioning to global management of MilliporeSigma’s bulk solvents portfolio. Since joining Promega in 2019, he has overseen the global expansion of Promega’s amplification reagents and continues to seek out solutions that improve researcher quality of life.
